Beginnings

Setembro é o mês dos recomeços. Há quem o diga e repita todos os anos, eu cá nunca achei que isso fizesse muito sentido, para mim o mês dos recomeços sempre foi Janeiro, acho que há coisas que devem seguir a sua ordem, logo que o recomeço seja no mês um do ano e não no mês nove, mas isto sou eu e a minha mania de querer tudo direito. A verdade é que este ano o mês nove soube mesmo a recomeço. Não tanto pelo regresso ao trabalho depois das férias, mas porque me mudei finalmente! E se há coisas que sabem a recomeços são todas aquelas que fazemos depois de algo mudar. Pensei que esta mudança fosse acontecer antes, mas há sempre algo a trocar-nos as voltas, e aqui podia começar a falar de como a minha falta de vontade em fazer planos resulta sempre bem, porque planear é definir, e definir é limitar, e por isso é bem mais provável que as coisas saiam daquela linha condutora que ficou definida. Prefiro trabalhar com objectivos, e o caminho até lá logo se vê, logo se vai fazendo… Voltando ao tópico inicial, finalmente o #apdajo está habitado e com ele veio uma reviravolta que estava a adiar há muito. Conseguem adivinhar? Sim, isso mesmo, o meu armário! Sei que tenho peças a mais, algumas que não uso, que já não me servem ou não me identifico mais, e sei também que quero dar-lhe um novo rumo!! É um processo, e ainda não consegui tempo para arrumar tudo como quero, mas lá chegarei. September is the month of new beginnings. There are those who say and repeat this every year, I never thought it made a lot of sense, for me the month of fresh starts has always been January, I think there are things that should follow their order as soon as the fresh start is in the first month of the year and not in the nine month, but this is me and my craze to want everything right. The truth is that this year the month nine really fells like resumption. Not so much for returning to work after vacations, but because I finally moved! And if there are things that fells like beginnings are all things we do after something changes. I thought this change was going to happen before, but there is always something changing around, and here I could start talking about how my unwillingness to make plans always works well, because planning is defining, and defining is limiting, and that is why things are much more likely to get out of that guiding line that has been defined. I prefer to work with goals, and the way there is soon we seen, soon is going… Going back to the initial topic, finally #apdajo is habited and with it came a turnaround that was long postponed. Can you guess? Yes, that's right, my closet! I know I have more pieces, some that I don't use, that no longer fit me or I don't identify anymore, and I also know that I want to give them a new direction!! It's a process, and I still haven't got time to pack it up the way I want, but I'll get there. Sandálias de tiras finas
Estamos em Setembro, as férias terminaram, pelo menos para mim, mas parece que o verão está a começar. Não me recordo de um Julho/Agosto tão pouco quentes a Norte. Agora que estamos em rentrée, de volta à rotina, o calor está a fazer-se sentir. Tinha esta publicação preparada para partilhar durante as férias, não se proporcionou, mas não me parece de todo descabido falar de sandálias num Setembro com 30 graus!
As sandálias de tiras são um must have em qualquer verão. Já as vimos com duas tiras apenas, uma no tornozelo e outra junto aos dedos (o que para mim se traduz no modelo mais consensual e intemporal), com imensas tiras entrelaçadas no tornozelo, tiras que se cruzam no peito do pé, com tiras em paralelo (as gladeadoras), com tiras até ao joelho, numa vibe mais boho, e tudo isto em versão rasa ou com tacão, enfim... este ano o que se quer é a ilusão de pés quase nus, daí as tiras serem BEM fininhas, mais do que o habitual. Com inspiração nos anos 90 o modelo que a The Row lançou tornou-se viral e replicado pelas fast fashion. Confesso que acho as sandálias extremamente elegantes e chiques. Acho que combinam com imensas peças, desde saias, calças, calções e vestidos, peças mais elegantes ou desportivas, por isso o céu é o limite.
Comprei umas sandálias assim nestes saldos. Encontrei-as na Bershka e fiquei indecisa na cor, verde fluorescente em padrão cobra ou preto liso. Sei que uma coisa não tem nada a ver com a outra, mas fiquei mesmo indecisa no momento, então comprei os dois pares. Fiz até uma votação no insta e a maioria de vós preferiu as pretas. Já o meu namorado e a minha irmã preferiram as verdes, numa de “são diferentes”. Depois em casa a minha mãe, que acha que eu já tenho calçado que chegue (e tem razão), vez-me ver que eu já tenho umas sandálias pretas de tiras, não neste estilo, mas são umas sandálias pretas de tiras. Fiquei com as verdes néon, devolvi as pretas, e estou ansiosa por usa-las com as minhas cargo pants! Esperem para ver!!


Thiny strappy sandals
It's September, the vacations are over, at least for me, but it looks like summer is starting. I don't recall such a mildly hot July/August in the north. Now that we are in rentrée, back to routine, the heat is making itself felt. I had this publication ready to share during the holidays, it didn't occured, but I don't think it all inappropriate to talk about sandals in a September with 30 degrees!
The strappy sandals are a must have in any summer. We have already seen them with only two straps, one at the ankle and the other at the toes (which for me translates into the most consensual and timeless model), with huge straps intertwined at the ankle, straps that cross the instep, with straps in parallel (the gladiator model), with straps until the knee, in a more boho vibe, and all this in shallow or heeled version, anyway... this year what is wanted is the illusion of almost bare feet, hence the strips are WELL thinner than usual. Inspired in the 1990s, the model that The Row launched went viral and replicated by fast fashion. I confess that I find the sandals extremely elegant and chic. I think they match a lot of pieces, from skirts, pants, shorts and dresses, more elegant or sporty pieces, so the sky is the limit.
I bought some sandals like this in these sales. I found them at Bershka and I was indecisive in color, fluorescent green in snake pattern or plain black. I know one thing has nothing to do with the other, but I was really undecided at the moment, so I bought both pairs. I even took a votation box for you to help me choose on my instagram account and most of you preferred black. My boyfriend and sister, however, preferred the greens, arguing "they are different". Then at home, my mother, who thinks I have enough shoes (and she is right), turns to me that I already have black strappy sandals, not in this style, but they are black strappy sandals. I got the neon greens, returned the black ones, and I'm looking forward to wearing them with my cargo pants! Wait and see!!

Why should you have a uniform?

Desde maio que não partilhava um look meu aqui! Oh-Meu-Deus!!!! IMENSO!!! Acho que nunca estive tanto tempo sem publicar por cá os meus outfits, mas a verdade é que não tenho tido tempos mortos para conseguir fotografar. Quando tenho tempo não tenho fotógrafo disponível.
Este foi o look que usei no jantar do meu aniversário, há mais de um mês, I know, e é daqueles looks bem simples mas que resultam sempre lindamente. Eu adoro este tipo de combinações. E não podia ser mais apropriado aos últimos meses que têm sido non stop. Confesso que cada vez mais sou adepta de deixar pronta a roupa que vou vestir no dia seguinte antes de dormir. Pensar no que vou vestir antes de sair para o trabalho acaba por me gastar demasiados minutos, ainda não estou bem acordada, tenho o raciocínio lento, noto que perco mais tempo quando na verdade o que eu queria era ainda estar a aproveitar a cama! Não sei se são como eu ou não, mas este tipo de combinações salva-me os dias, ou melhor, uns minutos a mais na cama pela manhã. E agora lembrei que esta necessidade de ter um "uniforme" é coisa comum em determinados homens e mulheres de sucesso, que usam sempre as mesmas peças de roupa, porque acabam por gastar menos tempo do dia a escolher o que vestir, investindo esse tempo noutras tarefas que agregam mais valor. Estou certa que já ouviram falar disto, se não pensem lá no Steve Jobs e no seu uniforme, sempre de camisola preta, jeans e sapatilhas! Quem aí também tem um conjunto "salva vidas"? (ou salva manhãs!)

Since May I didn't share an oufit here! Oh my God!!!! IMMENSE!!! I think I've never been so long without publishing my outfits here, but the truth is that I haven't had dead time to photograph. When I have time I have no photographer available.
This was the look I wore at my birthday dinner, over a month ago, I know, and it's one of those very simple looks that always work beautifully. I love this kind of combinations. And it couldn't be more appropriate to the last months that have been non stop. I confess that I'm increasingly adept of getting ready the clothes I will wear the next day before going to bed. Thinking about what I'm going to wear before I leave for work ends up taking me too many minutes, I'm not wide awake yet, I have slow thinking, I notice that I lose more time when in fact what I wanted was to still be enjoying the bed! I don't know if you are like me or not, but this kind of combination saves my days, or rather a few more minutes in bed in the morning. And now I remember that this need for a "uniform" is common in certain successful men and women who always wear the same garments because they end up spending less time choosing what to wear and investing that time in other tasks that add the most value. I'm sure you've heard of this, if you don't think about Steve Jobs and his uniform, always in a black turtleneck, jeans and sneakers! Who there also has a "life saving" set? (or save mornings!)

Quem os viu e quem os vê. Esta é a Marta, a minha irmã, que aliás já conhecem. Com ela está o Tiago, o namorado dela. Não foi fácil convencê-lo a estar aqui. Sim, porque nem toda a gente tem o mesmo à vontade para estar num sítio público a ser fotografado. Mais do que isso saber que as fotos vão parar a um blog de moda. Eu sei que podem pensar “Yah, tá tudo, já ninguém lê blogs, tranquilo…”, mas vos garanto que mesmo sem partilhas tão frequentes, há por aqui meses que nem sei de onde surgem tantas visualizações, muitas mais do que nos tempos áureos desta plataforma. Mas voltando ao início, lá consegui apanha-lo aqui para vos mostrar que ele mudou, ele e ela, que veio por arrasto quase como uma consequência de “não quero aparecer sozinho”. E mudou em termos de estilo, evoluiu, como quase toda a gente evolui, e ainda bem que evoluiu e bem, para melhor! Sim, há dias deparei-me com uma foto deles lá em casa e hoje estão claramente melhor do que há uns anos. E já que no mês passado não houve publicação, esta surge em dose dupla!
Entretanto tenho outros alvos na mira, quero fotografar mais vezes o meu namorado que tem uma pinta descomunal, juro que às vezes nem o entendo, onde foi buscar tanto sentido estético? Ele e alguns amigos. Martins, Rúben Valente, qualquer dia apanho-vos!

Who saw them and who sees them. This is my sister, Marta, who you already know. With her is Tiago, her boyfriend. It was not easy to convince him to be here. And they has changed in terms of style, it has evolved, as almost everyone has evolved, and thankfully it has evolved and well, for better! Yes, some days ago I came across a picture of them at home and today they are clearly better than a few years ago. And since last month there was no publication, it comes in double dose!
However I have other people I want to show you here, I want to photograph more often my boyfriend who has a huge style, I swear sometimes I don't even understand him, where did he seek so much aesthetic sense? He and some friends. Martins, Rúben Valente, I will catch you someday!

Linho
Há lá tecido mais apetecível que o linho nos dias quentes? Talvez, a seda e o algodão são igualmente sinónimo de roupas frescas e adequadas a dias com os termómetros a bater recordes. Mas de volta ao início, o linho está para os dias quentes como a pele e a malha estão para os dias frios. É um tecido clássico, sustentável, respirável e com um toque rústico, tudo características que cada vez mais agradam à geração millennial da qual faço parte. (sim, esta consciência ecológica está cada vez mais presente nas nossas escolhas)
O único senão é o facto de amarrotar facilmente, mas até acho que confere alguma personalidade à peça e lhe dá um certo charme! Há imensas opções nas lojas hoje em dia, escolhi aqui peças da Mango Outlet, todas elas em duas das tonalidade que mais gosto de ver neste tecido, a par do branco e do preto.

Linen
Is there any more desirable fabric than linen for hot days? Perhaps, silk and cotton are also synonymous with fresh and suitable clothes for days with record-breaking thermometers. But back to the beginning, the linen is for the hot days as the skin and the knit are for the cold days. It's a classic fabric, sustainable, breathable and with a rustic touch, all characteristics that more and more please the generation millennial of which I'm part. (yes, this ecological awareness is increasingly present in our choices)
The only drawback is the fact that it crumbles easily, but I think it adds some personality to the piece and gives it a certain charm! There are lots of options in stores nowadays, I chose Mango Outlet's pieces here, all of them in two of the tones I like to see in this fabric, along with white and black.
